he walked

down the sanded path
he paused

puckers
in little lines across his peach-like head
he was

thinking of the anxious
missing doors and windows
the pebble-dashed walls

unconsciously shaping the words of ultimatum

he detached
half-forgotten
a man sunk into

nothing
